Job Summary: Are you passionate about finance and ensuring smooth operations within a company? Do you excel in a dynamic environment where your contributions play a key role in maintaining accuracy, compliance, and efficiency? We are looking for an Accounting Administrator to join the Inlailawatash Limited Partnership team. In this role, you'll assist the Accounting Manager in overseeing a variety of financial activities, ensuring all processes run seamlessly. Your attention to detail and ability to support financial operations will be crucial in helping maintain a high standard of excellence in accounting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable:
•    Coordinate with department heads and/or coordinators to invoice various projects
•     periodically
•    Send approved invoices to clients
•    Post received payments
•    Run AR aging reports and follow up overdue payments with clients
•    Maintain AR documents and records to established company policies
•    Investigate and solve related issues in a timely manner

Accounts Payable:
•    Maintain various AP systems  - Plooto, Dext, Approval Max, Float
•    Coordinate and process payments in AP systems, including QBO
•    Support and process various tax filing and payments (e.g. GST, CRA)
•    Run AP aging reports, investigate and solve payment issues
•    Maintain AP documents and records to established company policies

Bank Reconciliation:
•    Assist in the daily clearing of bank transactions
•    Assist in investigating and follow up any discrepancies

Payroll:
•    Biweekly payroll processing after sign off from HR. Reviewing of pay statements before processing payroll
•    Export payroll reports from UKG system, maintain and post payroll records in QBO
•    Reconciliation of payroll elements ensuring rates, codes, earnings, deductions, taxes, and personal time off amounts/balances are correct. Ensuring that payroll meets ILP policies in the treatment of all pay elements.
•    Assist in investigating payroll issues

General Support:
•    Ad hoc tasks might be required in the areas of report generation, GL reconciliation, adjusting JE, tax filings, month-end, budgeting process and year-end tasks.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience:
•    Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or a related field and/or enrolled in CPA program at junior to intermediate level
•    3-5 years' experience with accounting, junior to intermediate responsibilities
•    3 years experiences with QBO 
•    1 year of payroll experience, preferably with First Nation tax exemption

Technical Skills:
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
o    Intermediate Excel skills, familiar with Pivot table, look up functions etc
•    Proficiency in managing the numerical data involved in accounting
•    Attention to detail to ensure compliance with regulations and financial accuracy
•    Outstanding organizational skills to meet the required deadline
•    Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with various internal and external stakeholders.
•    Experience with accounting softwares: Dext, ApprovalMax, Plooto, Float, and UKG is an asset, but training can be provided.

Working Conditions: 
    
Physical 
•    Significant desk work with long periods of manual dexterity activities 
•    Occasional scanning and collating of financial documents.
•    Dynamic environment with multiple demands, changing priorities and constant interruptions.
•    Highly sensitive financial, legal, confidential, and political issues.
•    Engagement with other departments. Limited interaction with clients, contractors, levels of government and First Nations.
•    Occasional meetings outside normal office hours.

Psychological
•    Long periods synthesizing complex and diverse information.
•    High workload


Travel: Although this position is primarily office based, there may be a portion of time spent traveling

Working Hours: 35-hour per week, overtime as required.

Expected Start Date: As soon as possible, willing to wait for the right candidate.

Compensation: $28-$35/h CAD; Plus, Extended Health Benefits & Pension Plan
