Kwikwetlem First Nation (KFN) engaged Inlailawatash to conduct a GIS/mapping needs assessment. The purpose of this project was to assess KFN’s existing GIS capacity and to develop a plan that enables KFN to better access, utilize, share, preserve and protect its GIS and information resources.
This project included both the inventorying of existing GIS and information management capacity components (hardware infrastructure, software licenses, geospatial datasets, metadata, skills, stakeholders, standards, processes, etc.) as well as a comprehensive assessment of how existing capacity both meets and does not meet KFN’s current and future needs. We then provided a series of recommendations to KFN and developed a plan for implementing these recommendations.
