Forest Service Road De-activation Project, Indian River Watershed

IRW FSR Upgrade 003Inlailawatash was hired in 2009 and again in 2011 by Tsleil-Waututh Nation, BC Hydro, FortisBC and the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations as the prime contractor to carry out extensive road de-activation / upgrade prescriptions on the Indian River Watershed Forest Service Road.

These prescriptions were aimed at improving the road conditions for year-round vehicle use and reducing the risk to downslope resources. Work involved the de-activation and re-establishment of a significant number of culvert, ford and bridge structures along 30 kilometres of road network.
